Drum Tracks and some mastering in GarageBand

Hi all. I’m busy creating Drum Loops in GarageBand for our track called “Left To Regret“. When I initially recorded this track it was done using Adobe Audition 1.5 and Fruity Loops 4. Now that I have a MacBook, I want to use GarageBand moving forward.

This means a little rework for me, but it’s a small price to pay. It’s also quite easy to create Midi Tracks in GarageBand. What I enjoy is once i’ve created my Drum Loop, I can master it and then add it to the Loop Library for future use.

Lastly, I like that I can open the built in notepad and make notes on the fly of settings that I put in place, etc.

Drum Loops in GarageBand

There will be vocals, and there will be instrumentals

Hi All. Just an update.

We currently have 4 tracks that are around 85% complete. We’ve taken our 1 track called “Left To Regret” and divided it into 2 versions:

1. A Radio Version that includes Vocals

2. An Instrumental Version which is extended

The Radio version will follow a Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus Pattern, whilst the Instrumental version will have a Verse, Verse, Bridge, Chorus Pattern.

The Instrumental version is about 90% complete. We need a few more licks to excite the song a bit, and then just some fine tuning. This will most likely be our first track that we will record.

We’ve already finalized the structure of the Radio Version, but we’re going to change the Chord Progression of the Verse part to accommodate a Vocal Line, which we are also working on. I would say this track is 70% complete.

We meet next week Tuesday again to review the Melody Lines and hooks that Warren and I have tasked ourselves with thinking up.

New Audio Recording of our Work In Progress track – Insomnia

Hi All. I’ve just posted Version 3 of our track called “Insomnia“.

It’s still a work in progress, but should give you an idea of the feel of the song. Slowish, a touch heavy, but very melodic.
